CHÂTEAU-CHALONThis naming of Jura carries(wears) the name of the village of Château-Chalon, perched on a hill, and applies only to the stemming yellow wine exclusively of the savagnin vine cultivated on a ground of marly limestones. The castle-chalon is raised(brought up) at least six years in partially filled(performed) barrels. A milky veil of yeasts forms on the surface and the wine acquires gradually the taste of characteristic walnut which calls back(reminds) that of the sherry fino. This wine in the surprising longevity is sold in trapues bottles of a volume of 62cl called clavelins. Appellation wines list
