CORNAS

The vineyards of syrah cultivated on terraces supported by low walls, cut from the granitic and rather stiff slopes directed in the South, train the small naming Cornas.

It counted only 53 ha of vineyards in 1975. Since, it benefited from the increasing interest of the market for wines of the Vallée du Rhône and its surface was carried in 76 ha. Improved wine practices increased the returns, and number of wine growers adopted the picking off before the fermentation and the breeding in the new oak, make wines smoked, fruity and less tannic than corpulent traditional wines and little rustic.
