It has been one around ten years since this property raises itself on the summit absolved from the hierarchy of the naming Saint-Emilion. Under the informed and visionary behavior of his owner, Alain Vauthier, who knows better that whoever to conjugate the modern and classic visions of the wine making, the vintage wine pulls today completely the potential of its tremendous soil of hillsides.

Ausone on only 7 hectares ideally situated, produced a dense, powerful wine, endowed with an exceptional softness. It reveals completely its potential which after a from ten to fifteen years old againg and shows itself then capable, in the big years, of evolving over several years.

The recent years are particularly made a success, with however a mention for the legendary 2005, which reaches an absolute level of perfection. Regrettably, the available quantities are tiny and with very high prices.
