Mission Haut-Brion
The castle now consists of just over 20 hectares, planted on a gravelly soil slightly richer than Haut-Brion, which faces it. The vines have an average age of twenty years because of replanting required, which certainly weakened a time the body of the wine compared to what it was in the immediate postwar period.
If we want to define the specificity of this wine from the famous vintages tasted, we say that it looks great as you might expect, Haut Brion, with the same qualities of flexibility, fade, the same smoky bouquet very original, but with a somewhat different form in the mouth, softer, more charming because it is easier to understand the early years. After age, Haut-Brion La Mission surpasses in complexity and finesse style pure, but gives in to his neighbor voluptuous texture.
