MontroseIt was Jean-Bernard Delmas, a former director of Chateau Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion Misson, who took the lead in this castle. On one block near the river, this vineyard is the exact twin of Latour Leoville Las Cases or enjoy the same exceptional microclimate. The wine has sometimes preserved the reputation that was his twenty years ago, that of an elegant wine but tough. In fact, when Montrose is harvested at high maturity, sweet sap reached a remarkable coating tannins of great style. The 1989, 1990, 1996 and 2003 illustrate this trend very well and have greatly contributed to the remarkable commercial success of the current vintage.
